My journey to success

Some months ago, one good friend and colleague from Texas told me to write a post regarding the creation of my firm and overall success. I was extremely busy then, and thus I promised him that I would write a post when I would feel more comfortable in relation with my business timelines and pressure. Today, I found some time to write this between clients’ appointments. Years ago, the only persons who could build large businesses and have a voice were those who had access to large amounts of capital, aka “money”. Nowadays, the game has changed. We have so many resources and it is easier to enter the market and either create a business or explore opportunities and get a better job.

What you need so that you can succeed:

1. Provide values--Be professional

2. Believe strongly in what you are doing

3. Do not get sidetracked by the negative opinions of others

4. Pursue your goals and work towards them

5. Be ready to face humble beginnings, obstacles, and roadblocks along the journey of success

6. Develop your own identity; market yourself; learn how to sell your skills and experience

7. Build professional relationships--Connectedness

8. You need an action plan--you will not reach your dreams without an action plan

9. You need to prioritize tasks and manage your time

10. Critical thinking, information analysis, uniqueness

11. Take initiatives

12. Team spirit - Be collaborative

13. Be flexible, adaptive, open to cultural diversity

14. Take risks--Use your intuition

15. Have a great attitude

16. Deliver unique and innovative solutions

17. Be passionate and enthusiastic for your work

18. Be confident--Be inspiration for others

19. Show respect, commitment, and compassion to others

20. Last but most important--Be ethical, honest, responsible--Be yourself

If you want to be an entrepreneur, do it now. If you don’t, you’re going to regret it. There is no perfect time.

This is for you--Juan Castro and all the entrepreneurs.
